32nd Annual Solano Wine & Food Jubilee
May 18 @ 6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
The 32nd annual Solano Wine & Food Jubilee returns to the historic Harbison Event Center at the Nut Tree on May 18, 2019.
The Jubilee was established to benefit the programs of NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement when those programs were first created in 1986. Over the years, funds raised at the Jubilee have helped assure patients and their families receive not only compassionate care during an end-of-life illness, but that they may never be charged for hospice or bereavement services.
The first Jubilee was held as a wine and cheese event in a Fairfield church and, as the event grew in popularity, was moved to larger and larger venues. It has been held in a hangar at Travis Air Force Base, in the then-new Jelly Belly manufacturing facility, in Lagoon Valley and for many years under a tent adjacent to the Nut Tree. It has become a perennially sold out affair.
As in years’ past, ticketholders to the 2019 event will be able to stroll about the grounds’ winding paths, sampling an array of foods, wines and brews offered by many of Solano County’s most generous restaurateurs, wineries and breweries. When the tasting portion of the evening winds down around 9 p.m., ticketholders move over to the Nut Tree Pavilion area, to enjoy rides on the Nut Tree carousel and train, to learn who won a brand new car or $10,000 in cash prizes in the Jubilee Raffle, and to dance to one of the area’s most popular bands, the Time Bandits.
The Harbison Event Center is named after the Harbison House, a 1900s-era home that belonged to the owners of the Nut Tree Restaurant. That iconic I-80 restaurant opened in 1921 and was closed in 1996. Harbison House was saved, donated to the Vacaville Museum in 1998, and moved to a piece of property in the center of a 3-acre lot that eventually became the Nut Tree Family Park, behind Nut Tree Plaza. When the park opened in 2006, the mixed-use complex featured meeting rooms and an amusement park, with a roller coaster, bumper cars and an arcade. The amusement park was closed to the public in 2009, but opened again in 2016 to host the 30th annual Solano Wine & Food Jubilee.
