2. Hike Pleasant Hill

For some of us out there, the best way to unwind and to relax is to get out into the open air and hike. When you stay with us, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how close we are to several great trails, hikes, parks, and other natural venues for you to stretch your legs. Whether you choose from an easy trek like the Mt. Wanda Trailhead in the John Muir National Historic Site or something that's gonna be more of a workout, you'll be glad you did. Afterwards you can head back to your comfortable hotel room which -- especially if you did the more difficult hike -- you'll be happy is mere minutes away.

3. Wine Pleasant Hill

We're so close to the Napa, Livermore, & Sonoma Valleys you'll appreciate the pleasant drive out to the fabled wine region! The drive is less than one hour each way. Choosing Pleasant Hill to visit the wineries, vineyards, and tasting rooms is a great way to load the car up with wines to take back home!

4. Enjoy Peanuts” in Pleasant Hill

If you're a fan of Charlie Brown, and his faithful companion Snoopy, as well as the whole lovable gang created by cartoonist Charles Schulz -- you're in luck! In nearby Santa Rosa you can find the Charles Schulz Museum. This is a great place to take the kids, or the kid in you, as school will be starting in the next few days.

5. Bay Area Kidfest & Other Family Experiences

Yes, both parents and kiddos know what Labor Day means. It's Back-to-School time! So, to make the end of summer a fun one take the little ones out for a final bash when you and the family head to Bay Area Kidfest in nearby Concord. Games, entertainment, two food courts, rides, and other attractions will ensure the fading of summer ins't a bummer.

There is a slight admission fee of $8 (only $7 if you bring a canned-food donation) with free entry for children under 24-months, and seniors over 65. Some rides require tickets, so please see the website for details and pricing.

Of course, there's more for the kids to do nearby -- with everything from zoos to amusement parks and so much more!

6. Pleasant Drives from Pleasant Hill

Another reason guests from San Francisco or San Jose like to call Pleasant Hill "home" for a few days is the easy access to the open road. Then, when returning from the Bohemian Highway, wine country, stunning beaches, or nearby Jack London State Historic Park you have your hotel to relax in and nearby dining to enjoy.
