The Fourth of July Weekend is as American as Baseball
Only 20 or so minutes away from Pleasant Hill by car, you can take in a game night with the Oakland Athletics, or the “A’s” as they’re known by baseball fans. The A’s are playing the Los Angeles Angels in a series from July 2nd through July 4th. Now, that’s something more American than apple pie.
The Oakland Arena will be doing a fireworks display on the Fourth of July, honoring the American spirit during an all-American game. Make sure to book tickets ASAP if you want a good seat.
Explore Pleasant Hill and the Bay Area
Pleasant Hill prides itself on being not just a city with small town vibes so close to San Francisco and Oakland, but also being in the middle of everything. Nearby towns offer many quick excursions which are only a few miles away by car, in some cases by walking distance from the Pleasant Hill Inn and other exceptional hotels, by joining a group tour, or simply by clicking on your favorite ride share app to catch a car.
Leave Your Heart in San Francisco, but Stay in Pleasant Hill
While you’re in the area, it may be a good time to take in the culture of San Francisco’s many fine museums such as the San Francisco MoMA, the Palace of Fine Arts, or the DeYoung Museum. A variety of walking tours, Instagrammable moments like the Golden Gate Bridge, sip a cocktail at the Top of the Mark, walk Telegraph Hill, unique shopping, and for movie fans visit spots associated with iconic San Francisco films await you.
Of course you can’t visit San Francisco over Independence Day without planning to take in some fireworks which are visible from two locations in the city! The fun takes place on the world-famous Embarcadero, the Municipal Pier, and on nearby Pier 39. Local bands, food trucks, and other highlights await you.
Think ahead though: both locals and guests love viewing the fireworks in San Francisco. Consider taking public transit into the city that day to avoid finding streetside and lot parking.
No matter how you enjoy your Pleasant Hill stay, whether you go solo, with a group of friends, your “date,” or with the family -- you’ll have many pleasant memories to share.
