Ludwig van Beethoven — Symphony No. 3 (Eroica)
WHAT'S INTERESTING ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Full of rich harmonies, Montgomery’s Overture is a lively piece that blends elements of jazz, American classical music, and Baroque rhythms.
Also known as the Elvira Madigan concerto, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 features one of classical music’s most famous and serene melodies, performed here by pianist Robert Thies.
Eroica changed the game for symphonic music: A bold and powerful celebration of struggle, triumph, and humanity, it’s where Beethoven truly began to push boundaries, introducing the emotional depth and drama that later culminated in the grandeur of the Ninth.
